3. Walk across the Des Moines Riverwalk Pedestrain Bridge. 4. See the Japanese gardens near the Riverwalk Pedestrain Bridge. 5. Get pizza at Fong's Pizza. They make asian inspired pizza. My favorite pizzas from them are the egg roll one and the crab ragoon. 6. Walk around downtown on the search for murals. I've found some pretty neat ones. 7. Go shopping at Raygun. They have funny t-shirts and other items. I love their magnets. 8. Shop at Domestica next to Raygun. They sell items from different crafters who are also on etsy. They always have some unique items. 9. Online, look up events in the area. You never know what will be going on down in Des Moines. 10. Eat at Jethro's BBQ. Be prepared to have to wait to get in if you go around dinner time. 11. Go biking. Go online and find maps of the bike trails in the area. Make sure to wear something bright so cars can see you. 12. Visit the Iowa State Capital building and get a tour. Be sure to go to https://www.legis.iowa.gov/resources/tourCapitol/request to request a tour. 13. In August be sure to check out the Iowa State Fair. The Iowa State fair has a wide selection of food, games, exhibits, shows. and more. 14. Visit the Papajohn Sculpture Park downtown. My favorite is by Jaume Plensa. It is called Nomade and was made in 2007. 15. Go to the Science Center of Iowa & Blank IMAX theather. The interactive activities are tons of fun. 16. Go to the Des Moines Art Center and see all the wonderful exhibits. 17. Visit Living History Farms. If you love old fashioned buildings and history this is a must do.
